As many of you know, I started brush lettering several months ago, and have quickly fallen in love with it. It’s been my creative outlet during the short bursts of free time that being a mother of two small boys has afforded me. When I’m in the car or on the train and Mr Z is fast asleep, I’ll whip out some paper and a Tombow or Pentelle brush pen and start doing drills or writing the same verse over and over again. When everyone in the house is fast asleep, I’ll take out my inks and paint brushes and start playing with colours and longer passages. There have been many nights when the poor hubster has fallen asleep with all my art supplies taking up the majority of room on our bed!
I’ve shared my progress on my Facebook and Instagram feeds (you can follow me under @joyadanwrites) and was completely blown away when I was contacted by friends and followers to produce lettering art for them. All of these have been so fun to produce, and it brings me so much joy to be able to share words that uplift and inspire in a completely new and creative way. I now have a few available and will continue to add to the collection:
I also made a bunch of presents last Christmas:
